Six government bodies regulate the production of fur in Ukraine:

The main documents that regulate activity in the field of fur farming and production of natural fur in Ukraine are*:

10. Guidelines for Keeping Fur Animals, approved by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine’s Order No. 379 of June 20, 2008 (the order is harmonized with the requirements of Council Directive No. 98/58/EC and Council Regulation (EC) No. 1099/2009, and agrees with the “Recommendation concerning Fur Animals”, approved by the Standing Committee of the European Convention for the Protection of Animals kept for Farming Purposes (Т-АР) of June 22, 1999);

11. State Program for Development of Domestic Production, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of September 12, 2011, No. 1130;

12. Rules for the Transport of Animals, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of November 16, 2011, No. 1402;

13. Procedure for the Use of Animals in Agriculture, approved by the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine’s Order of October 25, 2012, No. 652;

14. Law of Ukraine “On the Animal By-products Not Intended for Human Consumption” of April 7, 2015, No. 287-VIII (the law is harmonized with the requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and the Council and Commission Regulation (EU) No. 142/2011);

15. Concept of Development of Rural Territories, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine’s Order of September 23, 2015, No. 995-p;

16. Law of Ukraine “On State Control over Observance of Legislation on Food, Feed, Animal By-products, Animal Health and Welfare” of May 18, 2017, No. 2042-VIII (the law is harmonized with the requirements of Council Directive 97/78/EC, as well as Regulations (EC) No. 854/2004 and No. 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 669/2009);
